Founded in May 2004, Chiropractors with Compassion partnered with Compassion Canada to fund child-based humanitarian projects in third world countries. Over the last 3.5 years, CWC has completed seven child-centred projects in five different countries. Kilian Chiropractic Inc. works with Chiropractors with Compassion, which is currently helping fund the Widows & Orphans Housing Project in Nyanza Province, Kenya, Africa.

This project will help the poorest and most vulnerable people trying to cope with the devastating effects of HIV/AIDS. The project’s target groups are the widows, the children of widows and the children of deceased members of the widows’ extended families. Many of these widows are themselves sick and weakened by AIDS.

The proposed project will help these widows and their children repair and rebuild their homes and latrines, roof catchment water systems and improve the quality of hygiene in their homes. The project aims to help 50 widows and the children that they care for, usually between 6 to 10 children in each home.

Chiropractors with Compassion recently raised $46,642.82 in one month - a record month for donations. The goal is to raise $300,000 between March and June 2008.
