Spinal Injury

Spinal Injury Help From a Chiropractor

If you or a loved one has recently suffered a spinal injury, it can be hard to know how to proceed. Once the major crisis has past, you may find that healing is tougher than you imagined it would be. Unfortunately, traditional Western approaches such as pharmaceuticals may not always do the trick.
Here at Kilian Chiropractic, we offer a natural alternative that uses your body’s own healing abilities to speed your recovery and get you back to life as you know it as quickly as possible. If you’re wondering how to proceed after a spinal injury, you can learn more about that here.

What Is a Spinal Injury?

A spinal injury may encompass a range of conditions or symptoms. Some spinal injuries simply tweak the spine, causing pain, spasms or discomfort. Other injuries may push vertebrae or discs out of alignment, rupture discs or affect the spinal cord tissue itself. When this happens, you may experience a limited range of motion, extreme pain or mild discomfort, or a complete inability to function as normal.

How Do Spinal Injuries Occur?

Most injuries occur after a traumatic accident that involves a violent blow to the spine. This may result from a violent blow or fall in sports, a car accident, an accident at the workplace involving a fall, trench collapse or machinery accident, and more.

While many spinal injuries are obvious, causing extreme distress and hospitalization, some are not immediately critical and therefore go unaddressed. This is especially common in less intense accidents. If you have noticed pain, however, it doesn’t matter how traumatic the accident was; you need chiropractic help.

How Can Chiropractic Treatment Help?

Chiropractic treatment offers many benefits. It not only helps stretch and realign the spine so that discs, vertebrae and the spinal cord have time to heal, it helps mitigate pain and discomfort. Many treatments can help increase range of motion, while others stimulate your body’s immune system and healing powers to assist in recovery.

Our treatments range widely, from spinal decompression to manual adjustments and manipulations to the activator method. Our experienced chiropractor will talk to you about your injury and symptoms and help create a plan that addresses your exact needs, prompts healing and returns you to life as you know it.
