Kilian Chiropractic Health & Wellness

Who wants to be healthier in five years than they are today? We all do, but the truth is many people have taken their health to a level where it’s a real stress and challenge.

The body has a natural design to move towards health. Unfortunately, we have so many poor role models for health today that many of us no longer believe in this. Our health care system typically treats the symptoms of dis-ease when our body has moved away from ease, and when we treat the symptoms of dis-ease as if they are already disease, this often covers up the warning signals (symptoms) that are trying to get us to listen up, remove the stress, and get to the root cause of the symptom.

New science helps us understand that movement is like a nutrient. Just like we need vitamins and minerals, we also need proper movement to keep the body healthy and well; and not only movement on a cardiovascular level, but joints moving through normal limits of motion also.

Next to sitting, I do the second worst thing for my spine, leaning over, hunched forward during most of my working day. I also participate in Ironman, which is very stressful on my spine. I receive regular chiropractic care to maintain optimal alignment and health of my spine, ensuring reduced pressure on my nerve system. Regular chiropractic adjustments reduce and/or eliminate the physical stress that has accumulated in my spine throughout the week, which, over time, will not only help to reduce back pain and maintain spine health.

We would never think to brush our teeth only when we have a cavity, and that is why it doesn’t make sense to only adjust your spine when you have back pain, especially if you understand a true prevention and wellness model of spinal care. In other words, the adjustment counteracts the effects of stress throughout the day, week, or even month.

It is important to have people who support us in our pursuit of health and wellness. Know that I am one of those people, and I truly believe in your body’s ability to heal itself. If you reduce chemical, emotional and physical stresses, and implement daily action steps that are designed for health, you can trust your body will move you towards health and wellness.

Your partner in health,
Trevor Kilian

Always remember, your spine’s number one function is protection—protection of the spinal cord and nerves. And it is your nerves that allow your brain to send healthy signals for your body to properly function, heal, and recreate itself. Therefore, keeping your spine aligned and flexible, moving through normal limits of motion, not only helps to keep the spine healthy, but also works to reduce pressure on the nerve system, facilitating optimal nerve flow and function.
