At Kilian Chiropractic, we understand how a serious sports injury or accident can keep you from participating in the activities you love most. Look no further than Dr. Killian to assist you in returning to the game. Our Vancouver clinic offers the latest technologies and chiropractic equipment to assist in maximizing your rehabilitation process. Both acute and chronic injuries respond favorably to regular sports chiropractic care.

Sports Chiropractic with Dr. Kilian Can Help You Rehabilitate

Regular chiropractic care has been shown to be an effective modality for pain management, rehabilitation and prevention of both acute and chronic sports injuries. Sports injuries, whether acute or chronic, often leave patients experiencing both neck pain and back pain. At your visit, Dr. Kilian will discover the nature of your injury to develop a comprehensive plan that addresses current pain management and prevention of further injury. He will also discuss aspects of your everyday lifestyle and routines to offer suggestions about nutrition, exercise, diet and proper ergonomics at home.

Tendons, ligaments, joints, fascia and bone all take the brunt of a sports injury. Common sports injuries include shoulder and rotator cuff tears, labral tears, ankle sprains and strains, overuse of joints and sciatica which often result in neck pain and back pain. Sports chiropractic care determines where subluxation has occurred in the spinal column so that nervous system communication can be restored between the spinal column and other associated structures.

In addition to regular spinal adjustments, light therapy is an effective choice to speed up and improve the rate of healing. Light therapy is a painless part of sports chiropractic treatment that targets tissues so that healing can take place in a more focused manner. It is an excellent choice for reducing inflammation to joints and surrounding tissues. At your visit, Dr. Kilian will determine if light therapy is right for your health concerns.

Once tissues are healed and pain has been reduced, patients will notice overall improved range of motion. Rehabilitation and prevention take place beyond our office doors as well. To optimize the effects of your care, Dr. Kilian may prescribe rehabilitative exercises to be performed at home. These strengthening exercises, when done regularly, assist in maintaining proper nervous system communication and improving range of motion and flexibility in the body. They are key for a successful plan of pain management and sports injury prevention.

In addition to at-home modalities such as exercises, Dr. Kilian may also suggest certain supplements and nutrition recommendations that are tailored for reducing inflammation, healing tissue, maintaining bone density and to assist in providing baseline nutrients. These are all essential complements of your comprehensive sports rehabilitation plan.

Your Vancouver, BC chiropractor, Dr. Kilian looks forward to providing you sports chiropractic care.
