Tips to Alleviate Aches and Pain While Traveling

Do you often feel sore after travel? Do you want to avoid the back pain or neck pain associated with traveling? When you are planning to go on a trip in a car or on a plane, you want to take measures to avoid feeling uncomfortable. At Kilian Chiropractic, we help you avoid pain by alleviating your discomfort before your flight.

Pack Light

Keep your carry-on bag light. When you plan to travel by plane, you want to keep the weight of your carry-on bag within a comfortable weight range. Since you must lift it over your head, try to keep it to around 5 or 10 percent of your body weight.

Sit in Comfort

Consider back support during your travels. On a plane, you can put a pillow behind your back to keep it straight and maintain an s-curve to your spine. In a car, use a vehicle back support to prevent feeling sore after travel.

Get Up and Move

Walk in the aisles during your flight. If you are planning to travel by car, then stop regularly and take a break to move around. You do not want to sit for several hours to avoid back pain and neck pain . Movement helps with your discomfort.

Stretch and Walk Before the Trip

Before you get onto the plane or sit down in your car, stretch out your muscles and take a brisk walk. The movement will warm up and stretch your muscles. By stretching before a flight or a drive, you keep your muscles limber and you improve your blood circulation.
